these groups are marketing companies with web sites not florists with flowers. Indeed, they merely forward the orders they get from their
web sites onto the local florists. And as you can guess, they keep about 27% of the order value. In addition, if they provide web site management
for a flower shop, they tack on extra fees per order for that service, as well. Finally, they have their "membership fee" that can run in the hundreds
of dollars. It would be impossible for the local florist not to take this into consideration when filling orders for these national marketing groups.
You always want the full value of your order to go into the flowers and not have to share a cut with the middle man. The vast majority of florists have
web sites where you can conveniently place orders or provide a phone number so you can contact them, directly. So just do a search for a florist in the town
where your recipient resides and place the order with the florist you know will be filling your order. There is really no reason to place the order with a
marketing web site.
