When you call around to different florists, pricing a dozen roses, make sure to mention the size of roses you want.
Some shops will not ask if you want long stem roses, even though you may be taking that for granted. If you are not specific about this, you may end up sending a smaller size rose which won't have the presentation you are imagining.
When we receive a call about the cost of a dozen roses, I'm always sure to tell the customer that we use the extra large classic vase and we add a pretty filler flower
along with extra greens to provide the arrangement with some variety for the eye that won't over power the impact of the roses themselves.
We always use long stem roses which are 60 centimeters in length, before being cut a bit to shape the design.
In short, if you get a surprisingly low quote on a dozen roses, the next thing you should ask is if the roses are, "long stem."
